YOUTH WORKSHOPS
PROGRAM A – EARTH SCOUTS
Changing the world one fun badge at a time - youth working together to make the Earth Charter a reality at home and in the community. Badges center on universal human rights, eliminating poverty (economic justice), participatory democracy, respect for nature and a culture of peace. PROGRAM B – SPATTER & BLEND, LIKE THE GREAT MASTERS
Dress for mess (smocks a great idea!). Sharpen your drawing pencils and grab your sketch book and brushes. Here’s your opportunity to learn to draw and paint like the masters. Exploring individual imagery, preferences, and creativity, students will study the various techniques of early European masters, including: Russian artist Marc Chagall (wax crayon & watercolor); avant garde French artist Paul Cezanne (pastels, postimpressionism); Dutch artist Piet Mondrian (acrylics on canvas, cubism); Norwegian artist Edvard Munch (oil on canvas); and English artist David Hockney (mixed media, Chinese hand-scroll approach).
PROGRAM C – TOASTMASTERS YOUTH LEADERSHIP (under development)
The Youth Leadership Program is a terrific way to help younger members of society begin learning more effective and leadership skills at a younger age. The Youth Leadership Program helps young people develop the communication and leadership skills they need to be successful adults. The sessions of the Youth Leadership Program covers a variety of topics, including: Gestures, Vocal Variety, Using Visual Aids, Speech Organization, Taking the Terror Out of a Talk, Effective Speech Evaluation, Constructing a Speech, and, Relating to Your Audience.
