SECONDARY SCHOOL PROGRAMME

Lower Secondary (7th-10th grade)
Our lower secondary school programme naturally follows on from the primary programme, however with greater rigour. Students at this age are expected to have the maturity to step into a higher level of learning, however motivation is often difficult during these years, so  our curriculum is designed to engage students through interest based and interactive projects. There is a strong focus on developing the students work ethic and taking responsibility for their own learning as an active participant. Year 9 and 10 are preparatory years for the International Baccalaureate Diploma in the following years.

Highlights of our lower secondary programme include:
·
‘Big Question’ driven programme of instruction i.e. “What is man’s responsibility to man?”
·
Continued development of personal skills, attitudes and values.
·
Expansion of core skills, problem solving and critical thinking .
·
Honing of public speaking, discussion, presentation and debate skills.
·
Challenging and relevant curriculum.
·
Outdoor projects.
·
Community service.
·
Numerous subject related field trips.
·
Maintained staff/student ratio of 1:16 (on average).

Upper Secondary (11th-12th grade)
This programme is currently under development, through implementation of the International Baccalaureate Programme. The IB Diploma is an extremely rigorous 2 year course that will prepare students for college and the wider world. While academic ability often determines a students success in this programme, a strong work ethic is the best determination of success.

Subject outlines coming soon.
